We also specialize in remodeling and maintenance of existing facilities. CECO has been is business since 1944 and was founded by Elmer "Shorty" Rayner and Arthur "Blackie" Vandersypen. CECO is Alexandria's oldest electrical contracting company. Elmer "Shorty" Rayner opened Central Electric Company in 1944, and it remains a family-owned business today. James Rayner, Shorty's son, earned his Electrical Engineering degree from Louisiana State University and joined the company in 1965. He is the only graduate electrical engineer/contractor in the area. The Rayner family plans on meeting the needs of consumers through Central Electric Company for the next century.
